IT Systems Administrator - 2nd / 3rd Line Support

We are expanding our IT team and are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to take on the role of IT Systems Administrator. As a key member of our technical team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional IT services and driving system improvements to support our real-time bidding and web-based auction management solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of IT to ensure the delivery of a first-class service, supporting the company's mission and goals.

  • Apply your technical expertise across a diverse range of tasks, encompassing support, maintenance, design, development, and analysis of the entire infrastructure system, including Azure, LANs, WANs, internet, security, and wireless implementations.

  • Utilize your in-depth knowledge of Windows technologies, such as Windows Server and Desktop operating systems, to make informed recommendations for system enhancements and upgrades.

  • Demonstrate a logical and methodical approach to troubleshooting, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain system stability and performance.

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and enforcement of IT policies, ensuring adherence to company security standards and procedures.

  • Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure Cloud services.

  • Manage and monitor Azure cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance and security

  • Deploy and configure virtual machines, storage, and networking components in Azure.

  • Implement and optimize Azure resources for scalability and efficiency.

  • Monitor and service systems continuously, managing information systems' capacity both on-premise and in the cloud.

  • Drive process automation initiatives to streamline day-to-day activities and improve overall operational efficiency.

  • Ensure all services operate within agreed business service level agreements, regularly reporting system performance to management, and addressing resource and service issues.

  • Handle escalation procedures for important and urgent issues that may impact IT service availability to internal and external customers.

  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.

  • Maintain effective communication channels with business stakeholders, providing timely updates on service and project developments.

  • Provide out-of-hours support for critical production systems as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in 2nd or 3rd level Infrastructure and support roles.

  • Proven ability to deliver IT systems within a dynamic and fast-moving business environment.

  • Hands-on experience with task automation, process optimization, and deployments.

  • Prior experience supporting business applications in a corporate setting.

  • Involvement in IT project participation and successful delivery.

  • Proficiency in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.

  • Strong expertise in Windows Operating Systems and Desktop hardware.

  • Expertise in Azure / AWS.

  • Familiarity with Windows Server Architecture, including clustered and highly available environments.

  • Competence in Office 365 tenant setup and administration.

  • Excellent networking capabilities, encompassing TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and switching.

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools for proactive system management.

  • Knowledge of backup and restore methodologies, as well as Disaster Recovery best practices.

  • Familiarity with VoIP technologies.

  • Experience with SQL Server is highly desirable.

  • Azure experience required, certifications are a plus.
